Spring 2013

Young Designer’s Club (YDC) Series:  Thursdays 6 – 7:15 pm  starting April 4

In this series, participants age 9 – 13 will learn new sewing techniques each week while creating a cute, useful project.  Participants should have completed Youth Sewing 101 or have basic machine-sewing experience.    Choose to attend all sessions or choose which classes you would like to attend.  Schedule is as follows:

April 4 – Fab Fabric Jewelry

April 11 – Zippy zipper bag

April 18 – Cool cuffs

April 25 – Do your Room!

May 2 – Mom’s Day Mystery

May 9 – Swingy Spring Skirt

 Each week is a stand-alone project.  Cost: $150 for 9-week series, $20/class when you buy a 5-class punch card or $25/individual class.  All supplies and machines are included.  Participants must  pre-register since our class size is limited.

Adult Intro to Sewing: Monday March 25 7-9 pm or Saturday, May 18, 9:30 – 11:30 am

In “Intro to Sewing”, you will learn your way around a sewing machine, as well as primary skills, including fabric and thread selection, pattern layout, pinning and cutting.  The class is built to teach essential, foundational skills while creating two super-cute projects!   Classes will be small – a 5-student maximum.  All supplies are included with each class, and participants can use a class sewing machine or bring their own.

Youth Sewing 101: Saturday April 6 9:30 – 11:30 am

In Sewing 101, your child will learn their way around a sewing machine, as well as primary skills, including fabric and thread selection, pattern layout, pinning and cutting.  The class is built to teach essential, foundational skills while creating two super-cute projects!  I believe project-based classes give kids the instant gratification of showing off their work each week and the motivation to continue learning and improving their sewing skills.   Classes will be small – a 4-student maximum.  Parents are always welcome to drop off or stay for the class. All supplies are included with each class, and students can use a class sewing machine or bring their own.

FASHION CAMP!  June 17 – 21 1 – 3:30 pm

Our Fashion Camp will be such FUN!  Participants (ages 9 – 13) will learn sketching/design, machine sewing skills and basic garment construction techniques in a fresh, fun, creative atmosphere.
Each day we will create a new piece (skirt, shirt, bag, fabric jewelry, and student choice) and on Friday, we will hold a Fashion Show at the Studio with the other Fashion Camp (which runs the same week in the morning and is full).
Cost for the week is $200 and all supplies are included.  We require a $50 deposit to hold a spot. Email amy.c.frank@gmail.com for more information or to register.
